Can Bible Translations Be Trusted?

How can we know if Bible translations are trustworthy? There are so many Bible translations that some people wonder if they can trust the Bible translation they are reading. In this video, I attempt to give a brief explanation for why you can have confidence in your Bible translation while understanding that translations aren’t perfect. Here are some resources if you want to do your own research:

God’s Gift of Righteousness

Righteousness is a gift from God through Christ. Most Christians understand that forgiveness of sins and eternal life are a gift from God. But righteousness is also a gift to be received, not something that we can achieve by our own efforts to be good. It’s good to make an effort to be righteous, but true righteousness comes from what Jesus Christ did for us. And it is a gift we receive by faith.

Latest Video: “If God Is Good, Why Are Children Starving?”

A common accusation against God is that He allows children to starve. But is God responsible for children starving? This video is a response to a question that repeatedly comes up in the comments section of my other videos. It highlights the power and responsibility that each person has to make the world a place where children don’t starve.

Quick Commentary on Sin

The seduction of sin is very powerful. It is very easy to be enticed, which is why the world is so messed up. But the beauty of God’s plan to save us is that it doesn’t require us to be powerful enough to overcome the sin. He was powerful for us. God did what was necessary to save the weakest scumbag in existence.

Where Is the God of Miracles Today?

The Bible is full of miracles. Some people wonder why they aren’t seeing God do miracles today. Just because you haven’t seen a miracle doesn’t mean God isn’t doing miracles today. God is doing miracles today. This video discusses some possible reasons you may not have seen a miracle, and what our attitude toward miracles should be.

Not included in the video, but relevant to the subject, is a calculation I did regarding miracles. In the video I mention that I believe God will do more miracles in the next 24 hours than all the miracles mentioned in the Bible. Starting with an approximate number of miracles mentioned in the Bible at 160, I calculated how many miracles that would be during the span of an average lifetime of 80 years. 160 miracles per day for 80 years = 4,672,000 miracles during a human lifetime of 80 years. Dividing the approximate number of people on earth (7.5 billion) by this number gives us one miracle for every 1,605 people. So if God is doing 160 miracles per day, only one person out of 1,605 is going to experience a miracle in their lifetime. This may help a skeptic understand why they have personally not seen a miracle even though God is doing many miracles all the time.
