How many times is hell mentioned in the Bible? That depends on which translation you read. This video is a discussion of the words that have been historically translated as hell in English, and how those words should not have been translated that way. The concept of hell as a place of eternal conscious torment is not faithful to the Biblical text, nor is it faithful to the essence of Christianity. This video will give you good reasons to ditch the idea of eternal conscious torment in hell, and embrace a more Biblical view of the afterlife.
Is fearing God a good thing? Does God want us to fear him? Is there anyone who shouldn’t fear God? Is there anyone who should? This video explores the role of fear in our relationship and experience with the Creator of the Universe.
People sometimes have the idea that the Bible is a difficult book to read, but most of it really isn’t difficult. The Bible is an amazing book that reveals who God is and tells us the highlights of God’s history with humanity. Much of the Bible is exciting, some of it is a bit dull, and some parts are horrifying, but all of it is enlightening, and it has a great ending that includes you. This video is a short introduction to what is in the Bible, along with an invitation to read the Bible with me on live stream.
Coronavirus is becoming a significant concern that is causing fear in many people. When something like this happens, people wonder why and sometimes falsely attribute natural disasters and epidemics to God. Is God responsible for Coronavirus? We can look at the life of Jesus to get the answer to this question. Jesus had one response to sickness: he cured it. We should consider God the healer of sickness, not the bringer of sickness. This video explores God’s work in the world and how it relates to Coronavirus and to your life.
Many people feel completely alone in this world. Even some people who are rich and famous and seem to be surrounded by people who adore them still feel lonely. In this video, I hope to help those who have felt in despair because of loneliness by sharing some words of truth from the Lord Jesus. The truth is that you are never alone.
Which came first, the chicken or the egg? This question presents a difficult problem for the theory of evolution. The evolutionary answer to this question is that the egg came first. The proto-chicken laid the first chicken egg. However, this does not solve the insurmountable problem that evolution faces when it comes to reproduction. Evolution requires millions of years for developments in organisms, but no organism has millions of years to develop a functioning reproductive system. There is no scientific answer to the classic problem of the chicken and the egg. There are only stories. I reject evolutionary tall tales. I believe the story that starts with, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” God created the chicken, the egg, and the rooster.
Christians believe that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the world and that anyone who believes in Jesus is forgiven of sins and has the promise of eternal life. But what about the people who lived before Jesus died on the cross? If Jesus is the only way to be forgiven and saved, what happened to all those people? Those people were saved in the same way people are saved today: by faith. People who trusted in God to forgive their sins were saved by faith. Think of salvation like a credit card. The people who lived before Jesus ran up a huge debt, and Jesus paid the bill later.
