Things to Do Before Time Runs Out

Eternal life in the kingdom of God will be much better than our lives here. But there are a few things that we won’t be able to do in God’s kingdom. This video is an encouragement and a reminder to do those things right now while you still have a chance. If you are feeling discouraged about your life and wondering what your purpose in this life is, I hope this video will inspire you to make the most of your time in this world

Cain and Abel: The Offering God Favors

Cain made an offering to God, but God favored his brother Abel’s offering. Cain killed Abel. Some people ask, “Why didn’t God accept Cain’s offering?” Cain’s offering was insufficient, just as your offering to God is insufficient. There is only one offering that God favors these days, and it is the offering of Jesus Christ on the cross. This video discusses how Abel represents Jesus Christ and his righteous offering on our behalf.

What Is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit?

John the Baptist said, “I baptize you with water, but he [Jesus] will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.”  What does it mean that Jesus will baptize us in the Holy Spirit?  This topic causes a lot of confusion and controversy.  In this video I hope to give you an understanding of the baptism in the Holy Spirit by answering these questions:

1- What is the baptism in the Holy Spirit?

2- Is the baptism in the Holy Spirit a one-time experience?

3- Is this an event you need to wait for like the disciples waited in Jerusalem?  When does it happen?

4- What does it look like when someone is filled with the Spirit?

5- How do I know if I have the Holy Spirit?

6- Is there a difference between having the Holy Spirit and being filled with the Holy Spirit?

7- How do I know if I’ve been baptized the Holy Spirit?

Much of the misunderstanding comes from our modern understanding of word “baptism” as a formal religious event.  To baptize just means to dunk.  There isn’t just one type of baptism mentioned in the Bible.  There are many baptisms.  In addition to the Holy Spirit baptism, this video also explains the many types of baptisms mentioned in the Bible.  Thanks for watching

Are Religions Like Ice Cream Flavors?

Some people say that religions are like ice cream flavors. It doesn’t matter which religion you choose, it is all a matter of personal preference. But religions aren’t all the same. Religions aren’t like ice cream flavors, they are more like different types of food. The food you eat affects your health, and the religious ideas you embrace will affect your spiritual health. Not all religious ideas are equal. We cannot embrace all religious ideas as equal because some religious ideas are causing oppression and great harm to humanity. This video is a short illustration of this point. Thanks for watching!

Should Women Be Silent In Church? A Discussion of 1 Corinthians 14:34-35

The Bible teaches that men and women are equal- intellectually equal, morally equal, and with equal capacity for leadership. But there are a few difficult and perplexing passages of the New Testament that seem to contradict the rest of the Bible’s treatment of women. In this video, I will discuss one of those difficult passages: 1 Corinthians 14:34-35, and offer some possible explanations for these aberrant verses

Jesus: The Undercover Boss

Philippians chapter 2 describes Jesus as God who came in human likeness. Jesus was like a CEO who goes undercover and allows himself to be treated as an entry level employee. Jesus temporarily left his high position and took the lowest place as a servant. He did that for you and me. This video explains Philippians chapter 2:3-11 using the modern day analogy of an undercover boss.
Philippians 2:3-11 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

If You Don’t Believe in God, Eventually You Have to Get Off His Couch

Sometimes people say, “I’m a good person, so won’t God let me into heaven even if I didn’t believe in him?” Well, how long would you let someone live in your house and use all your stuff if that person didn’t acknowledge your existence at all? This video talks about why you need to acknowledge God and make the decision to be part of his family. If you aren’t part of the family, you don’t get to stay. Eventually you’ll have to get off God’s couch.

Jesus Loves the LGBT+ Community

An evangelical Bible thumping Christian talks about God’s love for the LGBT+ community and gives Biblical reasons for supporting the LGBT+ community and same-sex marriage. If you are part of the LGBT+ community, you have a place in the family of God.

Most verses from the Bible are read from the New International Version 2011.
Books mentioned in this video:
God and the Gay Christian by Matthew Vines

Credit is due to Matthew Vines for several points made in this video. For deeper discussion on the verses discussed in the video I recommend reading God and the Gay Christian.

What Did Jesus Really Say About Hell?

Jesus says the word “Gehenna” eleven times. This word is often translated as “hell.” But this word does not mean “hell.” Gehenna is the name of a place: The Valley of Hinnom. Bible scholars do not dispute this. This video is part of a series I’m creating to show Christians that the idea of hell as a place of unending conscious torment is not as Biblical as we have been led to believe. There are other great resources on this topic. Here are some sources for more information on what the Bible really says about hell:
